| The Boy Scouts of America,
in partnership with local schools, religious institutions, businesses
and civil organizations, is a program for boys ages 7-21 and girls
ages 14-21. For each stage in a child’s life, Scouting has a
specifically designed program that is age specific. The Cub Scout
program is for boys in grades 1st – 5th and
utilizes activities, quality time and creativity to emphasize to youth
to do their best. Boy Scouts, for boys grades 6th and up,
utilizes adventure, advancement and the out-of doors in providing
youth with leadership and team building skill. The Venturing program
is for boys and girls ages 14-21 that provide positive experiences to
help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and
caring adults. Exploring, also for boys and girls ages 14-21, is
another program designed for career awareness and education in youth.
Scouting helps our youth appreciate their community, education, and
natural environment in focusing on activities that build character,
citizenship and personal fitness. |

| CYP is an alternative middle and senior
high school academic program and social agency developed to meet the
educational, health, psychosocial, childcare and parenting skills
needs of pregnant teenagers and adolescent fathers and mothers.
Group counseling, individual and family counseling services are
provided for these teenagers and their families residing in urban and
rural Niagara County. In addition, pre and postnatal classes are
taught and extensive hospital, school and home visiting services are
provided. CYP also provides an extensive career and youth employment
program. |

| The Everywoman Opportunity
Center is a regional not-for-profit provider of career/life-planning
and employment-related services for women. The mission is to help
women achieve both personal and economic self-sufficiency. This is
accomplished by providing career counseling, skills and interest
assessment, training, education referrals, scholarship sourcing, job
search assistance, computer services and training, related life
skills, childcare planning, free interview clothing, and access to
community resources. Everywoman’s Niagara Falls center provides
services to individuals throughout Niagara County through interagency
collaborations so that appointments are available both in Niagara
Falls (both day and evening hours) and at various outreach locations
including Lockport, North Tonawanda, and Ransomville (days only at
outreach sites). |

Children’s Service of Niagara, Inc., offers a wide range of programs
focused on strengthening families and individuals. Services provided

Shelter (PASSAGE House), counseling, outreach, advocacy and 24 hour
hotline for abused women and children, outreach counseling to parents
to preserve families and prevent child abuse, 3) Group counseling
(PATHWAYS) for men who are violent in relationships, 4) Shelter (Casey

runaway/homeless youth; Safe Place locations Throughout Niagara County
5) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and their

diversion, and family outreach for those with mental health disorders,

girls in the world, the Girl Scouts of Niagara County is an informal
education program that provides girls ages 5 to 17 with opportunities

age-level groups supervised by trained adults. |

| Now in its 75th
year of service, HANCI serves caregivers, children and families, and
senior citizens. United Way funds specifically support HANCI’s three
senior volunteer programs: the Foster Grandparent Program, the Retired
and Senior Volunteer Program, and the Senior Companion Program. These
programs operate through ongoing federal grants from the Corporation
for National and Community Service, along with funds from the New York
State and Niagara County Offices for the Aging. United Way
contributions also assist the Golden Age Program, which offers
informational, social and recreational opportunities for Niagara’s
seniors. Other HANCI programs include the licensed HANCI Home Care
program, HANCI Adult Day Services, three Child Learning Centers, an
Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group, the Council on Aging of Niagara
County and the federal and county-funded Title V Senior Employment
Program. |

is a not-for-profit agency providing legal assistance to low income
residents of Niagara County in non-criminal matters (i.e., public
assistance, social security disability benefits, landlord/tenant,
divorce, bankruptcy and utility shutoffs). Clients may open a file
over the phone or in person and receive assistance ranging from
counsel and advice to representation in court. Clients must meet
income and asset eligibility guidelines. There is no charge for the
program’s legal assistance. Program hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. –

the Compeer-Niagara – youth and adult, the Self-Help Clearinghouse,
the Client (legal) Advocacy Service, the Youth Booth, Peer Advocacy
and Peer Linkage Program. |

| Niagara
Cerebral Palsy provides comprehensive services to individuals with all
types of developmental disabilities, from birth to adulthood.
Education Services include Nursery and Preschool programs for
non-disabled children and therapy services (Physical Therapy,
Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Social Work) to disabled
children. Residential services include Home and Community-based Waiver
Services, Individual Support Services and Residential Habilitation to
accommodate a wide variety of needs. NCP operates a variety of
residential facilities and offers services to individuals living in
their own homes. Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides
participants with assessment, personal adjustment and vocational
training. Sheltered Employment and Day Treatment Services are offered
at CVRC. NCP’s Community Employment Office offers Job Placement
Services, where Job Coaches place participants in community jobs and
provide follow-along services if needed. Transportation, Dental and
Nursing Services, as well as Adult and Children’s Recreation Programs
are also offered at NCP. |

of Niagara, a subsidiary of Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, offers

| The Salvation Army provides a multitude
of services intended to help the whole person. For individuals in
financial hardship our assistance may be with food baskets, essential
clothing/furnishings or help with rent/mortgage/utilities – as funds
are available. There is also counseling and referrals to deal with any
underlying issues. The Youth Recreation Center provides quality
after-school programming for children ages 6-12 (3:00 p.m. – 7:00
p.m.) and 13-19 (7:00 p.m. – 9 p.m.) Monday – Thursday during the
school year. Our Kids Kamp is a structured after-school activity on
Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. featuring homework help, crafts,
recreation, dinner then values education. The center provides a
variety of youth games and sports in the gym, game room and computer
lab. The Summer offers a one-week Residential Camping Program and a
seven-week Day Camp Program for up to 50 children, Mon – Fri 9:00 a.m.
– 5:00 p.m. We also visit the sick and infirmed in area Convalescent
Homes, as well as provide a community Thanksgiving dinner, Holiday
Baskets & toys and offer Small Group Social Development/Fellowship
within our membership. |
